Andrzej Salwin built the Fuel Log app as an Ad Supported app. This SERVICE is provided by Andrzej Salwin and is intended for use as is. The app is free to download and use, and optional premium features are available as in-app purchases.
This page is used to inform visitors regarding my policies with the collection, use, and disclosure of Personal Information if anyone decided to use my Service.
If you choose to use my Service, then you agree to the collection and use of information in relation to this policy. The Personal Information that I collect is used for providing and improving the Service. I will not use or share your information with anyone except as described in this Privacy Policy.
Capitalized terms used in this Privacy Policy have the meanings given to them in this document.

Information Collection and Use
For a better experience, while using our Service, I may require you to provide us with certain personally identifiable information. The information that I request is retained on your device and, because signing in is required to use the app, is also synchronized to the Firebase database (Cloud Firestore) under your user ID.
Information you provide or create in the app
- Account information: email address, display name, profile photo (if provided by your sign-in provider), unique user ID, sign-in provider (Google, Apple or email and password), first and last login date, and app build number.
- Vehicle information: vehicle name, type (car or motorcycle), fuel tank capacity, engine power, distance unit, vehicle category and engine fuel type.
- Fueling records: fueling date, odometer reading, fuel volume, fuel price, notes, full or partial fueling indicator, and information about missed previous fuelings.
- Service records: service date, odometer reading, service price and notes.
- Reminders: reminder type, due date or odometer value, repeat interval, note and completion status.
- Settings: preferred distance, capacity and consumption units, currency, date format and theme.
- Purchase information: whether premium features are active, whether the two-vehicle entitlement is active, and the result of an in-app purchase. Payments are processed by Google Play or the Apple App Store; I do not receive or store your payment card details.
Information collected automatically
- Analytics data: events about how the app is used, such as adding, editing or deleting a vehicle, fueling, service or reminder, fuel volume, app rating, sharing, purchase results and promotional campaign clicks.
- Diagnostic and log data: crash reports, error details, device name, operating system version, app configuration, IP address and the time and date of your use of the Service.
- Advertising data: your device's advertising identifier, IP address, approximate location derived from IP, device and app information, and information about your interactions with ads.
How I use your information
- To create and manage your account and sign you in.
- To store, synchronize and restore your vehicles, fuelings, services, reminders and settings.
- To calculate consumption, costs and statistics shown in the app.
- To process and restore in-app purchases and premium features.
- To display and measure advertising that supports the free version of the app.
- To understand how the app is used, fix errors and improve the Service.
- To protect the Service against abuse and to comply with legal obligations.
Third-party services
The app does use third party services that may collect information used to identify you. The services currently used are:
- Google Play Services – core services on Android.
- Firebase Authentication – sign-in with Google, Apple or email and password.
- Cloud Firestore – cloud storage and synchronization of your app data.
- Firebase Analytics – usage statistics.
- Firebase Crashlytics – crash and error reporting.
- Firebase Remote Config – remote configuration and in-app campaign information.
- Google AdMob and Google advertising technologies – advertising.
- Google Analytics – analytics for the fuellogapp.com website.
- Google Play and Apple App Store – in-app purchases and payment processing.
- Google Sign-In and Sign in with Apple – optional sign-in methods.
Advertising and advertising identifiers
The free version of the app is supported by advertising, which may be served by Google AdMob. AdMob and its partners may use your device's advertising identifier, IP address, approximate location derived from IP, device and app information, and information about your interactions with ads to provide, measure and improve advertising, including personalized advertising where permitted by law.
You can limit, reset or delete your advertising identifier and opt out of personalized advertising in your device settings:
- Android: Settings → Google → Ads (or Settings → Privacy → Ads).
- iOS: Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.
Opting out of personalized advertising does not remove ads; it may make the ads you see less relevant. For more information, see Google's advertising technologies page.
Log Data
I want to inform you that whenever you use my Service, in a case of an error in the app I collect data and information (through third party products such as Firebase Crashlytics and Firebase Analytics) on your phone called Log Data. This Log Data may include information such as your device Internet Protocol (“IP”) address, device name, operating system version, the configuration of the app when utilizing my Service, the time and date of your use of the Service, crash stack traces, and other statistics.
Cookies and similar technologies
The mobile app does not use browser cookies. It uses local storage on your device (Hive and SQLite databases, shared preferences) to keep your data and settings, and it may use advertising identifiers and similar technologies as described in the advertising section above.
The fuellogapp.com website uses Google Analytics, which sets cookies to collect information about how visitors use the site. You can accept, refuse or delete cookies using your browser settings. If you choose to refuse cookies, some portions of the website may not work as intended.
Service Providers
I may employ third-party companies and individuals due to the following reasons:
- To facilitate our Service;
- To provide the Service on our behalf;
- To perform Service-related services; or
- To assist us in analyzing how our Service is used.
I want to inform users of this Service that these third parties have access to your Personal Information. The reason is to perform the tasks assigned to them on our behalf. However, they are obligated not to disclose or use the information for any other purpose.
Data Retention
Your account information and app data are retained for as long as your account exists. Data stored locally on your device remains there until you clear the app's data or uninstall the app. Analytics and crash data are retained according to the retention settings of the relevant Google services, after which they are deleted or aggregated. If you request deletion of your account, I will delete your cloud data and account as described below.
Account and Data Deletion
If you wish your account and data to be removed, send an email from the address associated with your Fuel Log account to andrzej.salwin.80@gmail.com with the subject “Account deletion”. I may ask you to verify that you own the account before proceeding.
After verification, I will delete your Cloud Firestore data (account profile, settings, vehicles, fuelings, services and reminders) and your Firebase Authentication account within 30 days. Some information may be retained if required by law or for the establishment, exercise or defence of legal claims. Data stored locally on your device can be removed at any time by clearing the app's data or uninstalling the app.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to the processing of your personal data, to receive a copy of your data in a portable format, and to withdraw any consent you have given. To exercise these rights, contact me at andrzej.salwin.80@gmail.com. I will respond within the time required by applicable law, normally within 30 days.
EEA, UK and Switzerland (GDPR)
I process your personal data to perform the contract with you (providing the app and synchronizing your data), based on your consent where required (for example, for personalized advertising), for my legitimate interests (security, preventing abuse and improving the Service), and to comply with legal obligations. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority.
California (CCPA/CPRA)
I do not sell your personal information for money. I may share identifiers, device information and internet or app activity with analytics and advertising partners for cross-context behavioral advertising, which may be considered “sharing” under the CPRA. You can opt out of personalized advertising using your device settings described above or by contacting me. California residents also have the right to know, delete, correct and opt out, and the right not to be discriminated against for exercising these rights. I do not knowingly sell or share the personal information of consumers under 16.
International transfers
The third-party services used by the app, including Google Firebase and AdMob, may process your data in the United States and other countries outside your country of residence. Where required, these transfers are protected by appropriate safeguards such as the Standard Contractual Clauses approved by the European Commission.
Security
I value your trust in providing us your Personal Information, thus we are striving to use commercially acceptable means of protecting it. But remember that no method of transmission over the internet, or method of electronic storage is 100% secure and reliable, and I cannot guarantee its absolute security.

Children’s Privacy
These Services do not address anyone under the age of 13, or under the minimum age of digital consent in their country (which may be up to 16 in the EEA). I do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children below that age. In the case I discover that a child has provided me with personal information, I immediately delete this from our servers. If you are a parent or guardian and you are aware that your child has provided us with personal information, please contact me so that I will be able to do necessary actions.
Changes to This Privacy Policy
I may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. Thus, you are advised to review this page periodically for any changes. I will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page. These changes are effective immediately after they are posted on this page.
